Getting around
Chino Hills Pkwy is the main spine, feeding SR-71 to the west. Eucalyptus Ave and Grand Ave provide secondary routes; it's a 10-minute drive to SR-60 for commuters heading toward Los Angeles or Riverside.
A little history
The Shoppes at Chino Hills opened in 2007 as the city's answer to a true downtown, built around an open-air plaza with a central fountain rather than an enclosed mall. The surrounding Fairfield Ranch and Gordon Ranch tracts filled in through the 2000s, rounding out Chino Hills' build-out toward the Diamond Bar and Brea borders.
Living here
This is as close as Chino Hills gets to walkable, mixed-use living — residents in English Springs and Fairfield Ranch can walk to dinner, a movie, and the library. Newer Gordon Ranch homes trade a bit of that walkability for larger lots and hillside views.
Visiting for the first time
Spend an evening at The Shoppes: dinner on the plaza, a movie at Harkins, and a stop at the fountain, especially during the holiday tree lighting or a summer live-music night.
The Shoppes as Chino Hills' downtown
Without a historic Main Street, Chino Hills built its town center from scratch — Trevi Lane's fountain plaza now hosts the farmers market, holiday tree lighting, and countless family photos. It's the closest thing the city has to a shared living room.
Gordon Ranch's newer hillside homes
As Chino Hills filled in through the 2000s, Gordon Ranch and Vila Borba brought larger, view-oriented homes to the city's northern edge near the Diamond Bar border — popular with move-up buyers who still want a short drive to The Shoppes.
